Amazfit Band 5 vs. Xiaomi Mi Band 6 Comparision-

The Xiaomi Mi Band is the first name that comes to mind when we think of inexpensive fitness trackers. The Mi Band 6 has been undercutting the major players for the past six years, delivering a solid fitness monitoring experience on a budget.

However, newcomers are posing a threat to Xiaomi's hegemony in the lower end of the tracker market. The Amazfit Band 5, which is made by Huami, the same company that makes the Mi Band, is one of them.

The Amazfit Band 5 debuted in 2020, following the Mi Band 5, and although there's no word on an Amazfit Band 6, there is a Xiaomi Mi Band 6.

Is there a significant benefit of choosing one over the other because they are both inexpensive and offer many of the same features? We've used both trackers and can tell you where your wins and defeats are.

Let us begin with what we already know. The Amazfit Band 5 costs £40, as far as we know.

The Mi Band 6's global price has yet to be determined. The Mi Band 5 is currently on sale for £37.99, and we don't expect official pricing to exceed £50.

Amazfit Band 5 vs. Xiaomi Mi Band 6: Design-

Given that Huami manufactures Xiaomi's Mi Band, there is a lot of design overlap. And there hasn't been much work put into making the Mi Band 6 and the Amazfit Band 5 look dissimilar.

To begin, we'll look at the Amazfit Band 5, which is made of polycarbonate and has a 12.4mm thick TPU plastic harness.

The Mi Band 6 has a similar sized polycarbonate case and plastic strap pair, as well as the same style pin clasp, which we don't really care for. That houses a larger 1.56-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 152 x 486 pixels. Here, too, you'll get the same water resistance level as the Amazfit Band 5.

Aside from the various colour schemes, what's the real difference here? The only thing that distinguishes them is the display quality and scale. On the Mi Band 6, there's less bezel and a punchier, lighter one, but if you can live with more bezel that's well hidden by a good watch face, the Amazfit Band 5's isn't poor either.

Amazfit Band 5 vs Xiaomi Mi Band 6: Health and Fitness Monitoring-

Both use standard motion sensors to track moves, monitor sleep, and monitor indoor activities and pool swimming. Both have a heart rate monitor that can be used to track and continuously monitor heart rate during exercise. The same sensor is used to calculate PAI health assessment scores and to monitor continuous stress using heart rate variability measurements.

Battery life of Xiaomi Mi Band 6 vs. Amazfit Band 5-

When it comes to battery life, any of these trackers will suffice. You won't be charging them every day, for one thing.

The Mi Band 6 has the same 125 mAh battery as the Mi Band 5, which should last up to 14 days in normal use and 20 days in power saving mode. It took 7 days in our heavy use testing. You can extend your battery life by turning off more power-intensive features including continuous heart rate tracking.

The Amazfit Band 5 has a battery with a similar capacity that can last 15 days in normal use, 25 days in power-saving mode, and a whopping 90 days in standby mode. On the Band 5, it's a similar tale to what you'll get from the Mi Band 6. You will get closer to a week if you use all of the features, but you can get a couple of weeks out of it.
