Apple's new iPhone 12 series was launched earlier last month and, with a range of new features and improved specifications, the company announced the launch of the phones. But the nature of Apple's launch events is such that we still find new things about the new Apple iPhones after two weeks of launch.
The latest news comes with the help of a VentureBeat FCC filing, which claims that the 2020 iPhones support a hidden feature, a reverse wireless charging function, which will allow at last one future Apple accessory to be the new AirPods Pro.
The iPhone Series also supports the WPT charging function at 360 kHz, as shown by the FCC filing, besides being able to charge by a desktop WPT charger. However, the only accessory available to charging the iPhone 12 is a potential apple supplies in the future. Apple has for now disclosed any supported accessories that can take advantage of this feature.
In a tweet, mark Gurman of Bloomberg speculated that the new Apple Accessory, new AirPod with support for MagSafe could indeed be indicative. This function could enable the AirPod case to attach and load the back of iPhone 12 models magnetically to allow users to load their AirPods onto their iPhones. But as mentioned above, the new AirPods case would require MagSafe to work with the iPhone.
No information on the new AirPods is available at present, but the company can announce a new AirPod that works with the new MagSafe system specifically from the iPhone 12.
This would be quite unique and explain why for the time being Apple did not mention anything about reverse wireless charging.
