If you enjoy stargazing, reading about outer space, studying celestial bodies, or scouring the Internet for pictures or videos of galaxies, then a new NASA Instagram post will leave you speechless and smiling. The image of "interacting galaxies Arp 273" was shared on NASA's Hubble Space Telescope's official Instagram account. A cluster of spiral galaxies appears to have formed a shape resembling a cosmic rose in the picture. A swath of bright stars shining brightly in the distance gives the appearance of sparkling jewels.
“A cosmic rose, just for you!” NASA captioned the photo. #OTD ten years ago, this spectacular picture of the interacting galaxies Arp 273 was published. This “rose” consisting of galaxies is about 300 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda.”
The article has captivated NASA's followers once again, garnering over 160,000 "likes" and a variety of reactions. One user wondered if the galaxies were “going to collide?” while another wished she could “keep this sparkling Rose with me....forever.” A third user thought it was "so romantic," while a fourth said "I love you" while giving the "rose" to another.
Arp 273 is made up of two spiral galaxies, the larger of which is known as UGC 1810 and the smaller of which is known as UGC 1813. Arp 273, as explained by NASA, is located in the constellation Andromeda.
NASA has posted photographs and videos of space on its social media accounts several times. The agency posted a few breathtaking photographs of the Earth as seen from space about a week ago. NASA astronauts took the images, which were posted on NASA's official Instagram page, from a vantage point on the International Space Station. “No matter whether we are on land or in space, we are united by this tiny blue world – and that's something to celebrate,” NASA captioned the picture.
