Ola Electric Mobility intends to create a nationwide charging network for its electric scooters, which will begin rolling out this summer from its huge Bengaluru plant.
According to Ola, the Ola Hypercharger Network will be the world's biggest and densest two-wheeler charging infrastructure, with 100,000 high-speed charging points in over 400 Indian cities. The startup plans to open 5,000 points in 100 cities in the first year, doubling the country's existing infrastructure. It will also include a home-charging kit with its scooters.

To accelerate electric vehicle adoption in India, which has lagged far behind China and Europe, adequate charging infrastructure is critical. Ola Electric would need to ease customer uncertainty about cost, driving range, and charging point availability if it wants to sell the 10 million vehicles it expects to manufacture every year in its Bengaluru e-scooter factory — the world's largest.
The startup, which is backed by SoftBank and Tiger Global Management, claims that its device can charge an electric scooter battery to 50% capacity in 18 minutes, allowing for a 75-kilometer trip (47 miles). The chargers will be placed in crowded areas such as city centres, business districts, office buildings, and other densely populated areas. Customers will be able to pay and monitor charging progress through an app, according to the company, which will develop the system in collaboration with partners.
Ola's co-founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, said in a tweet, "We are re-imagining the whole user experience of owning an electric car."

Ola has stated that its scooters would be priced “aggressively” in order to make them affordable to Indian buyers. The company also intends to sell to other countries.
